Viggo Mortensen has done paintings that he's painted words over, or used the words as the inspiration but left them on the canvas. I was very put off by it at first -- I thought he was disrespecting the language, odd since he's also a poet. I'm still not sure I like that part of his artistic expression....
Hmmm. I'm curious about the art. There was an exhibit of calligraphy at the old imperial church in Innsbruck last July. Some of the images were words as the pieces used to construct the bigger picture. One of which was text from one of the Psalms, and was quite beautiful.
I'm curious...
My co-worker informed me that whenever I said "I'm curious", it was time to run to avoid getting sucked into something "too intelligent" for her. She actually meant "too deep into that I.H. scientific stuff". Because it usually only happened when I came across something that could occupy the next intern for an entire summer.
